What forms of dance do you offer?
Danceology offers classes in jazz, tap, ballet, acrobat, musical theater, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop and adult dance. We also have combo classes for two ages groups; 3-4 years and 4-5 years!
Do you offer a free trial class?
Yes! We are happy to offer a free trial class to all new dancers. Sometimes dancers are not sure what style of dance they would like to try. We make it easier by allowing you to come in and try a class or two before final registration. All dancers must complete a registration form and a waiver at the front desk.

What are your payment plans? Do I have to pay for the year upfront?
We have a variety of payment options for your convenience. There is a discount for payment in full for the season. There is an installment of 4 payments and a monthly installment option. All payment options require attendance September through June season. All payment options include a costume, registration fee and tuition. HST is added to all payments.
How much do classes cost?
The two 1 hour classes a week are recommended, as is practicing at home. As you progress through the ranks if you want more 1:1 attention we offer 30 minute private lessons which can further help hone your skills.
What can I expect my 3 year old to learn?
They basically work on locomotor skills, pre ballet, creative movement and social interaction. Sometimes young children enjoy the rhythms of dancing at home, but it takes time for some of them to be ready for organized group activity. At this age it varies a lot from child to child. The teacher will encourage them to join the class and have fun while helping them to be part of the class.
I was never a dancer, will this have a negative impact on my child's ability to grasp dance concepts and develop skills?
A parent with no experience in dance has no impact on a child's learning abilities! Encourage your child to show you what they learned in class. Don't force a regimented practice schedule on them at an early age. dance is supposed to be fun!
Where can I find dance shoes, dancewear for my child?
A form with information for the proper shoes to wear for classes will be given to all registered dancers. We will recommend the best place to find the appropriate shoes. Always discuss with the teacher before purchasing the proper shoes.
Do you offer family discounts?
Yes, we offer discounts to families with more than one child. Only one discount is allowed per family. Cousins are not included. Siblings only.
Do you offer competitive dance?
Yes! We have two levels of competitive dance. We have pre-comp, which require 4 classes per week (one must be ballet). we have full time competition, which requires 6 or more classes per week (two ballet classes required).

We have a mini team of competitive dancers starting at age 6.
Do you offer recreational dance and is there a year end show?
Yes! We offer all forms of dance for all ages in recreational dance. Our classes run from September through June and we have a year end showcase for all performers! A costume for our year end show is included with your registration for the year.
How do I know if my child is progressing?
We have parent watch weeks in the early winter and spring. As far as your child's advancement, the individual teacher is the one who can best judge that in relation to the rest of the class. If you have concerns, we recommend that you schedule a time to meet with the teacher.
When do classes begin and end?
All classes begin 1 week after public school begins in September. Our classes run like the school year and are finished in June. While we do accept students in the year, it is to the student's benefit to start at the beginning of the season.
How do I register?
Please fill out the online form attached to an email with the type of dance your are interested in taking. We will have registration dates posted on our website for in person registration as well. Auditions for our competitive team will be posted on our website shortly!
What is the age range at Danceology?
The majority of our students are elementary and high school students, we have dancers of all ages and skill level at Danceology. Our youngest dancers begin as early as 2.5 (they should be 3 by January of the dance year). These children need to be potty trained, and they need to be comfortable being away from their parent for the duration of the class.
